Wheat Ridge Acupuncture - Trauma Informed Care - Denver & Boulder
Feelings of shame, guilt, rage, isolation and disconnection can often play a significant role in a person's life. I practice sensitivity and awareness of the role physical, sexual, and institutional abuse or neglect pay in a client's experience both in and out of the treatment room.
Trauma-informed in my practice means that I aim to be aware and sensitive to the role that physical, sexual, and institutional abuse and/or neglect play in clients’ experiences both in and out of the treatment room.
Being trauma-informed to me means leaving space for people to talk about their trauma, or not-depending on what the client wants. Being trauma informed also means being sensitive to people’s individual triggers and being aware of the role that recurring feelings of shame, guilt, rage, isolation, and disconnection can play in the treatment room and in the healing process.
